Buoys to be installed on Little Sebago Lake Monday, June 14, 2010
During the week of June 14 to 18, the Maine Department of Conservation, Navigational Aids program will be installing over sixty buoys on our lake to mark various hazards, shallow areas, reduced speed zones and channels. Your board met with the buoy placement team in April for an extensive two hour discussion of the lake topography and buoy needs.
Each year the Little Sebago Lake Association has placed a limited number of buoys to mark areas of of the lake and borne the expense of purchasing and maintaining these markers.
This new program will relieve us of this task and the buoys will be installed, monitored and maintained by the state.
A draft of the buoy locations is located here. |
