Water Level Report Friday, August 28, 2009
Here is an update on the water level and preparation for hurricane Dan - the lake is currently at 289.5 or +3" of lake summer level
right now. Given a decent forecast it was intended to keep the lake an inch
or two high through the Labor Day weekend. The NWS has forecast that Hurricane
Dan will produce heavy rain and wind this Saturday with "potential" to get
worse. We have requested that Collins Pond open their dam 100% tonight and we will open Little Sebago Lake dam Friday
afternoon. The storm could turn west (as did Bill) and effect us very little or
could turn east with flooding potential. At this point we need to cover the
potential with some excess capacity. |
