Annual Meeting - Other Items

Other items of 2007 Annual meeting  (Full minutes at http://www.littlesebagolake.com/meetings/Annualmeetingminutes2008.pdf )

Milfoil Inspectors-Carol Ann Doucette:  1000 boats have been inspected so far this season.  Our focus is to have the landing manned at the busiest times.  Bass tournaments are posted and attended by our inspector.

Milfoil initiative-Carol Ann:  The goal of the initiative being promoted by lobbyist, Bob Mills, is to raise four million dollars over the next three years to be shared by the six lakes currently involved in the effort.  This will likely be a tough year for receiving earmark funding which is usually appropriated in October.  We will be meeting with Susan Collins &/or her aide on 8/13.  Maine has 26 lakes that have reported milfoil.

Loon lady-Dorothy Bates:  Annual loon count will be next Saturday at 7:00 AM.  This is the 25th year on record.  Last year counted 15 adults and only one surviving chick.  This year?s low water is causing problems with usual nesting sites.  Dorothy appreciates all loon nesting & activity info.  Encourages all to protect loon population by informing others of need to not disturb them.

?Freedom? & ?Lawrence?:  The baby eagle blown from the nest four years ago required amputation of it?s broken wing.  He has been named Lawrence and lives at the Gray Animal Park. There are two baby eagles in the nest this year.

Drawing for raffle:  Boat & trailer donated by Steve Roman
