all LSLA bouys are out of the water |
|
On Oct 11, Rod and I removed what was left of the lake bouys. They are in bad shape, several leaking, one cut in half, and one missing. Durring the year we have had two sink. We were hoping the new replacement bouys would be ready we would just swap them out. That didn't happen, to many people's disappointment those areas on the lake were left unmarked.
The replacement bouys I'm speaking about are craftily being made. They are lighter, brighter and will be more upright in the water. As well as replaceing the bouys we will be needing to replace chains, chain shackles and make new placement weights.
We have been asked about more bouys thoughout the lake. We now mark 19 spots, it's a muddy, rusty, cold, wet day event now. With the new bouys that sould cut down on that time, giving us more time to place more in. Bringing up the question where??? Everyone can think of places that should have a marker, but how many markers to cover them all? Whats the right number? I would like to replace all the old bouys, befor placing new ones myself. Thank you

Thanks guys, this is a tough and not always pleasant task and we all appreciate it. I'm hoping the new buoys make your task easier and the visibility better. As I become more familiar with the lake it would be nice if some of the hazards marked with old milk cartons and clorox bottles had buoys but I agree with you Chris, lets get the 19 replaced first.

Buoy's |

Budgeting is always tight for this sort of thing but some consideration should be given to another "BEACON BUOY" marking the rock pile just beyond Aimhi. The beacon off Sabberty Point cost about $150. and is still going strong after 10 years. That is very short money vs a lower unit.
